KRIS WRIGHT TO MAKE HIS ARCA MENARDS SERIES RETURN WITH VMS

Venturini Motorsports (VMS) has announced that NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) driver Kris Wright will join their lineup for the upcoming ARCA Menards Series race at the Michigan International Speedway on Friday, August 4th.

Wright’s entry into racing is far from ordinary. Despite already being an accomplished athlete with a thriving golf career, he made a daring switch to motorsports at 19 years old. Displaying an unwavering commitment to excellence and adrenaline in all aspects of his life, Wright holds a private pilot’s license.

The Pittsburgh, Pa., -native’s motorsport journey began in sports car racing, debuting in 2015 in the Pirelli World Challenge. During his rookie season in the IMSA Prototype Challenge the following year, he secured an impressive second-place finish in the drivers’ championship standings. In 2018, Wright claimed the LMP3 Championship title. His transition to endurance racing saw him compete at the 24 Hours of Daytona at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, where his team achieved a second-place finish in the LMP2 class standings.

Beyond sports car racing, Wright’s achievements extend to open-wheel racing, including participation in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.

In 2020, Wright marked his ARCA debut in the West Series, achieving back-to-back podium finishes.

Since then, he has balanced between competing in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS).

“I’m excited to be driving the FNB Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsport,” Wright said. “I’m looking forward to being in good equipment for this race. Michigan International Speedway was my first big oval race, and I am excited to return!”

Piloting the No. 55 FNB Toyota Camry for VMS, Wright will be under the guidance of crew chief Cayden Lapcevich. Lapcevich is eager to work with someone as experienced as Wright.

“I’m excited to work with someone with as much experience as he has,” Lapcevich said. “Going to Michigan, that big-track experience will benefit us. We can go into the weekend confident, which will pay off well.”

Wright’s return to the ARCA Menards Series with VMS is scheduled for August 4. Race fans will want to watch the live coverage of the event at 6 pm ET on FS1 and FloRacing.
